Alex Myers, a transgender educator, will lead us in a session designed to take us "Beyond the Bathrooms" in our work to accommodate our transgender students and adults (well, really, all students and adults) in our communities. Stay tuned for a list of suggested readings to help us prepare for this work!

Dr. Charlotte Jacobs

Dr. Jacobs’ research interests focus on issues of identity development and gender in education concerning adolescent girls of color, teacher education and diversity, and youth participatory action research. Dr. Jacobs earned her doctorate in Teaching, Learning, & Teacher Education from the University of Pennsylvania. Currently, Dr. Jacobs is the Co-Director of the Independent School Teaching Residency program at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. Dr. Jacobs is also a consultant with Teaching Girls Well Consulting, and recently co-authored the book Teaching Girls Well: How Teachers and Parents Can Reach Their Brains and Hearts.
