Expanding Our Vision of Gender: TRAVEL AND LOGISTICS
DRIVING TO HOTCHKISS
Use the map to find directions. Be aware that cell phone and internet connectivity around Lakeville is spotty at best- don't rely only on your phone!
The good news is that once you reach The Hotchkiss School, there is no need to go anywhere.
FLYING TO HOTCHKISS
There are two airports that you can fly into when traveling to Hotchkiss.
Logan International Airport in Boston, MA is about four hours away- easier to get a flight, but longer drive to Lakeville CT.
Bradley International Airport in Hartford, CT is about an hour from Lakeville. Faster drive, but limited flight availability.
In either situation, you will need to arrange for your own transportation to and from the airport. There are no shuttle services from either airport to Hotchkiss.
When making flying arrangements, consider that the conference registration starts on June 21st around lunchtime. Plan not only on your airport logistics, but also on driving to Lakeville!
Students and faculty will be staying in Hotchkiss dorms, boarding school style. Students are assigned singles or doubles, and chaperones are assigned single rooms. Bathrooms are dorm-style. Lodging in provided starting the night of June 21st, for two nights, Thursday and Friday. Check out happens on Saturday afternoon.
All meals are included in your registration fee, from Thursday dinner to Saturday lunch, including pre-bed and mid-afternoon snacks. These are provided by Hotchkiss dining services and will be offered in the Dining Hall.
We are working on putting together further details for travel. As they become available we'll post them here!

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Summer in New England can be unpredictable. Check the weather forecast ahead of time to get a better idea of what to expect. Chances are it will get hot during the day. We hope things cool off at nightime but it might remain toasty. Some items of clothing to consider:
- Shorts, for sure. You will likely be toasty.
- Sweatshirt or 2nd layer of some kind, just in case.
- Active gear if you're planning on running or exercising. You will also have access to the athletic facilities at Hotchkiss.
You will not need to bring linens to Hotchkiss. However, you will need some other logistical pieces:
- Water bottle (seriously, hydration is important!)
If possible, you might want to bring a fan for your bedroom- though we realize that for those flying this might be a challenge.
